Synercon Technologies, LLC has teamed up with the University of  Tulsa’s Continuing Education in Science and Engineering (TU-CESE) department to conduct training on how to use the Forensic Link Adapter, Smart Sensor Simulator, and TruckCRYPT software.

During this three-day course, you will learn

  • how to access and preserve HVEDR data using forensically sound techniques so it is viable in court.
  • how to troubleshoot connection and power problems with forensic tools and heavy vehicle systems.
  • how to connect ECMs to sensor simulators to set up a fault free environment and obtain data without overwriting information of interest.
  • how the reported data are determined so that valid interpretations can be made.
  • about the known limitations of the data, including when the data is not captured.
  • about the basics of digital forensics and forensic soundness of data.
  • practical vehicle networking technologies, including J1939, J1587/J1708, and RP1210.
  • techniques to attribute HVEDR data to a crash event.

Opportunities to attend a Synercon Technologies product training course are offered by our training partner, Forensic Training Group.

Forensic Training Group offers instruction on Synercon Technologies Forensic Link Adapter (FLA) and TruckCRYPT software. The training is conducted over two days and upon completion the student will be able to download a heavy trucks using the FLA and upload the data using the TruckCRYPT software. Students will receive a Forensic Training Group and Synercon Technologies certificate upon successful completion of the training.

The Forensic Training Group was formed in 2016 by former law enforcement officers and police training instructors that identified a need in the field for high quality, customized forensic instruction. Law enforcement officers, insurance professionals, government employees, and other interested parties now have a better choice for their specialized training needs. Current Synercon Technologies course offerings include:

1. Technician Training on the Use of the Forensic Link Adapter (FLA)

This course will train the user to download digital information from heavy vehicle electronic control modules in a forensically sound manner.  At the completion of this training, students will possess the knowledge and skills required to operate and understand the forensic soundness of digital data from heavy vehicle electronic modules.  Length of training: 8 hours

2. Use of TruckCRYPT  Software

This course will train the user on features of this heavy truck software. At the completion of this training, students will possess the knowledge and skills needed to upload data via the FLA and retrieve the data for analysis.   Length of training: 8 hours

A certificate will be issued by Forensic Training Group and Synercon Technologies upon course completion.
