Description
This is a communications-only cable for the Cummins CM2350 and CM2450 found on most newer Cummins engines. This works with the default settings. Communications only cables will still set fault codes.
The Smart Sensor Simulator for Cummins engine control modules are designed as communications cables with some sensor simulations. The connection to power, ground, ignition, and J1939 enable an RP1210 device to communicate with the ECM. Not all sensors are simulated, so the Cummins ECMs will have new fault codes when using the Smart Sensor Simulator. If fault codes are an important part of the investigation, then using a surrogate vehicle is recommended.
